The Casinia sign up flow takes roughly three minutes and asks for standard information: an email address, a password, a name, a country, a currency, a phone number and a residential address. The mechanical part is unremarkable. The part that decides how the account behaves later is identity verification, and it is worth completing on day one rather than after a win.

The single most useful step at registration: upload identity documents immediately. Verification is mandatory before the first withdrawal is released, and it adds 24 to 48 hours to that first cashout when it is left until the money is already sitting in the balance. Completing it at sign-up removes that delay entirely.

Casinia orders its registration differently from most operators — the bonus choice appears before any personal details are requested. Players who are not expecting that sometimes claim an offer they did not intend to take.

  1. Choose a bonus, or decline one Casinia opens with the offer screen. Four packages are shown: a casino welcome bonus, a crypto welcome bonus, a sports welcome bonus, and the option to proceed without any offer at all. Declining is a legitimate choice and, for players who intend to withdraw quickly, usually the better one. The bonus page sets out the full terms of each package.
  2. Enter email and password A working email address is required because account confirmation and every subsequent document request run through it. A password manager and two-factor authentication are both worth enabling at this point rather than later, since access recovery on a funded gambling account is slower than on most services.
  3. Provide personal details Name, country, currency, phone and address. Two fields carry weight beyond the form: the name must match the identity document exactly and must also match the holder of the payment method used to deposit, and the currency — CAD for Canadian accounts — is selected once and cannot be changed afterwards.
  4. Confirm age and accept the terms The age confirmation is a legal declaration, not a formality. The minimum is 19 in most Canadian provinces and 18 in Alberta, Manitoba and Quebec. Accepting the terms binds the account to the bonus rules, the withdrawal limits and the single-account policy.
  5. Confirm the email and upload documents The confirmation link activates the account. The document upload is technically optional at this stage and practically essential — see the verification section below.

Name mismatch is the most common reason a first withdrawal is rejected. An account registered as "Mike" against a driver's licence reading "Michael", or funded from a card held in a partner's name, will pass registration and fail at cashout. The name on the account, the name on the identity document and the name on the payment method must be the same.

What to have ready before starting

Two documents are requested in every case. Four more may be requested depending on deposit size, payment method and account activity. Gathering them in advance turns verification from a multi-day exchange into a single upload.

Always required

  • Government-issued photo identification — passport, driver's licence or provincial ID card
  • Proof of ownership of the payment method used for the deposit

May be requested

  • Card or e-wallet statements covering the last one to three months
  • Proof of residential address issued within the last three to six months
  • A selfie holding the identity document
  • Source-of-funds documentation on larger balances

Cryptocurrency deposits need one extra preparation step. Proof of payment ownership is straightforward for a card or an e-wallet, both of which issue statements in an account holder's name. A self-custody wallet such as Exodus issues no such document, because no account in anyone's name exists. Players funding by crypto should capture a screenshot of the wallet showing the sending address, and record the transaction hash, before making the deposit. Both are independently checkable on the blockchain and both are accepted as evidence where a named statement cannot exist.

Whether the welcome package is worth claiming

The Canadian welcome offer is a 100% match up to C$750 with 200 free spins and one Bonus Crab credit, on a C$15 qualifying deposit. Wagering runs at 35 times the deposit plus the bonus, capped at C$7.50 per bet, over ten days. On a C$750 deposit matched in full, that is roughly C$52,500 of turnover — a volume most players do not complete inside the window.

Worth taking if

  • The plan is extended slot play rather than a short session
  • Slots are the main game type, since they count 100% towards wagering
  • The deposit is money already budgeted for entertainment

Better declined if

  • The intention is to withdraw winnings quickly — an active bonus blocks cashouts
  • Live dealer tables are the preferred format, since they count only 10%
  • Bet sizes above C$7.50 are planned, which voids the bonus

The bonus page carries a calculator that converts any deposit and game mix into a required turnover figure, along with the excluded-game list.

Identity verification, start to finish

Know Your Customer checks are a regulatory requirement across the industry, not a Casinia peculiarity. They exist to block underage accounts, prevent money laundering and confirm that winnings are paid to the person who earned them. Documents are submitted by email and reviewed by the operator's compliance team. Where the process is completed at registration, it is invisible; where it begins after a win, it typically adds 24 to 48 hours to the first withdrawal, and longer if a document is rejected and has to be resubmitted.

This page covers what to submit and how. The reasons a payout stalls after documents have been accepted are set out separately on the withdrawal page.

How to photograph a document so it passes first time

  • Shoot in daylight, on a flat dark surface, with the flash off
  • All four corners inside the frame, nothing cropped
  • The full data page in focus, with no fingers over the text
  • Original file, not a screenshot of a photo, and within the upload size limit

Age, jurisdiction and the one-account rule

Casinia operates a strict single-account policy. Duplicate accounts are a standard ground for closure and confiscation of balances, and the check runs across name, address, device and payment method — so a second account opened under a variation of the same details will be linked.

The site does not accept players resident in the United States, the United Kingdom, the Netherlands, Israel, Bulgaria, Curaçao, Moldova, Ukraine, Afghanistan, Iran or Iraq. In Canada, the age threshold is 19 in most provinces and territories and 18 in Alberta, Manitoba and Quebec. Casinia is not registered with iGaming Ontario, so Ontario residents using the site sit outside the provincial consumer-protection framework — the position is set out in full on the provincial table.

Before funding a new account. Casino games carry a mathematical advantage for the house, and most players lose money over time. A deposit should be an amount whose loss would change nothing about the week. Casinia offers self-exclusion and a self-assessment test; it does not offer self-serve deposit, loss or session limits, so any spending ceiling has to be set by the player or at the banking end.

Registration questions

What documents does Casinia need for verification?

Two are required in every case: a government-issued photo identification document and proof that the payment method used belongs to the account holder. Depending on the deposit method and the amounts involved, the compliance team may also request card or e-wallet statements covering the previous one to three months, and a proof of address issued within the previous three to six months. Crypto depositors should supply a wallet screenshot showing the sending address plus the transaction hash, since a self-custody wallet issues no named statement.

How long does Casinia verification take?

Where documents are submitted at registration, review usually completes before the account has any winnings to withdraw and adds nothing to the cashout. Where verification starts after a withdrawal request, it typically adds 24 to 48 hours, and longer if a document is rejected and must be resubmitted. Poor photography is the usual cause of a second round.

Can the account currency be changed after registering?

No. The currency is selected once during sign-up and is fixed for the life of the account. Canadian players should select CAD so that deposits, bonuses, limits and withdrawals all run without conversion. Changing currency requires closing the account and opening a new one, which conflicts with the single-account policy and should be arranged through support rather than attempted directly.

Is it possible to register without taking a bonus?

Yes. The offer screen appears first in the sign-up flow, and it includes an option to proceed without any bonus. Declining keeps the balance free of wagering conditions, which means withdrawals are not blocked and bet sizes are not capped at C$7.50. For a player who intends to cash out quickly, that is usually the more practical route.

What is the minimum age to register from Canada?

Nineteen in most Canadian provinces and territories, and eighteen in Alberta, Manitoba and Quebec. The declaration is made at registration and confirmed against a photo identification document before any withdrawal is released. An account that fails age verification is closed, and deposits are returned rather than paid out as winnings.

She has spent nine years in iGaming, the first four in payments operations and the last five in editorial compliance.

Her review method starts from the terms and conditions rather than the marketing page. Every figure published here is traced to a primary source — an operator's own terms, a published game RTP, or an independent verification service — and where sources conflict, the conflict is stated rather than resolved by picking the most flattering number. Claims that cannot be verified are left out entirely.

Working out of Montréal, she covers both English and French Canadian markets and pays particular attention to how provincial rules diverge — the difference between Ontario's registered market and the offshore sites available everywhere else is the single most consequential thing a Canadian player can misunderstand. She writes about responsible gambling tooling in every review because its absence is a measurable risk, not a footnote.
